The Thoughts

"Remember them that are in bonds as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body." Hebrews 13:3 We have a Christian duty to remember our brothers who are suffering. We each know one of His children who might be afflicted or going through a trial.  We also are aware that some of our brothers and sisters in other countries are being persecuted. Pray for them, do good to them, and obey when God leads you to do something to bless one of His own.

"If thou wouldst believe, thou shouldst see the glory of God." St. John 11:40  When God says he will do something, he will do it.  If we believe in him, we have the opportunity to see his glory manifested down here.

"He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake."  Ps 23:3b

"I will no longer doubt Thee, O Lord,I will forever stand on Thy word;I will believe and simply trust,Can I have faith? Yes, Lord, I must." #287 ELS9/5/12

"I'll live for Him who died for me,
How happy then m
y life shall be!"

Ecc 7:1  A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth.--Lord, guide my life.  I want it to have eternal value.  6/25/12

All things point to Christ. That is why we have so many prophesies looking forward to Christ Jesus, and also why we should now be living a life that refers back to His life and sacrifice. A Christ-like life is just as important and glorifying to God as the ancient prophesies.  5/3/12

"And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee; for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee." Psalms 9:10  Keep on trusting; because we know, if we trust him, he cannot fail us. 4/12/12

If you want someone to know you care, take time to talk to them. 3/26/12

"Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy."(Matthew 5:7) I sometimes hope that others will have mercy on me and forgive a fault or be generously fill a need. It is then that I have to stop and ask myself if I have been merciful to others. 3/2/12

Eternity is a long time. Take time now to think about it. 1/19/12

"I count the vain treasures of earth as but loss." from "Under the Precious Blood" I know that earthly things bring no true lasting gain, yet I often need to be reminded to not hold on so tightly or seek after them too much. 11/10/11

"Anything less than perfect dependence upon God is a denial of Him."  C. E. Orr  10/31/11

"If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God." Colossians 3:1  What is higher than Jesus who is sitting on the right hand of the throne of God?  Set your thoughts on him.  10/25/11

Psalms 27:4 "One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple."

"...That they may glorify your Father which is in heaven." May this be my purpose in the things I do. 9/23/11

Prayer can turn a day from bad to good without changing the circumstances. 9/19/11

Pray for your friends. You never know when they might be needing it. 9/16/11

Lord, may I see a soul in every face, and may I hear a heart in every voice. 9/14/11

Sunday morning prayer: "Open our hearts, Lord to receive you word. It is a language that is foreign to the flesh." Roberta Wilson 9/11/11

Isaiah 6:5&8  "Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts...Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me."
The glory of God made Isaiah both humble and willing. He saw his humanity, yet he answered to the call of God.
